ABOUT ME
“Music is how our feelings and thoughts sound”
It is a gateway to a world of art and beauty. It is an environment where our children can explore and experience first hand the best that humanity has to offer.
As an educator and a piano teacher, I am fascinated with the ways that music, particularly playing the piano, are impacting the growth of children. Music is a tremendous force that drives the development of emotional balance, physical coordination, ability to maintain focus, multitasking and much more.
I am happy and grateful that I can pass this experience and knowledge to my students.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF LILIT'S STUDENTS
Students of Lilit Karapetian-Shougarian have been accepted to top conservatories and universities including but not limited to: Harvard University, Brown University, University of California, Berklee, Colby College, and the University of Michigan. They have also received offers from the Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School of Music, Eastman School of Music, NEC, and more. Lilit's students have been finalists and winners of local and international competitions such as the Crescendo International Competition, Little Mozarts International Competition, Classical Idol Competition, Extravaganza, MTNA, Rivera Competition and many others. Many of them were chosen to perform at Carnegie Hall, New York. Mrs.Karapetian-Shougarian has taught masterclasses locally and internationally. These masterclasses have been held at NEC, at the International Cultural Exchange program, etc. In addition, she has been a judge for several competitions.
